Friday, June 3, 2022 » Marley, on his first trip to Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park on the long Platinum Jubilee bank holiday. When I lived in Bow and everything was still locked down, this park was a welcome reprieve. Bringing a dog is even better. The cemetery stopped new burials several decades ago and was left to rewild. Now it's a mature multi-storey woodland that is always singing with birds, still gridded with graves. It's a jewel of the East London outdoors.
Friday, May 13, 2022 » Dinner under the white wisteria covering Metro's patio. It's chilly enough to enjoy turning on the infrared heater, but dry enough to spread out on the big cushioned benches without getting a wet butt. You wouldn't know that this is right on one of the busiest streets in Clapham, tucked behind a tall facade that blocks the street noise. There are fireplaces inside and a little chimney smoke is a nice addition to the ambiance. The waitress told me all about a property she owns and rents out in Italy near where I'm supposed to be going for work in June.
Tuesday, May 10, 2022 » Orchid and teacup looking nice in the afternoon bedroom light.
Monday, April 25, 2022 » Young girl bored at the Parthenon Marbles in the British Museum (they are really, really trying not to call them the Elgin Marbles anymore... without giving them back to Greece). Gina's last day in town, so we had to do (1) a museum and (2) find her some fish and chips. The latter was in Mayfair at an upscale place that made us wait a long time but thankfully made a really good vegan version for me.
Sunday, April 24, 2022 » Dario and Gina at the White Swan across the Thames from Eel Pie Island. We took a nice long walk from Richmond to Ham House before taking the ferry to the north shore of the river and walking upstream to this spot for a pint.
Monday, April 11, 2022 » Oh, hello. I needed a new work headshot in my new suit.
